GTF
was originally founded in 1990 by Veteran guitarist,
John Gaechter, who has been honing his craft
for the past 2 decades in such bands as Lynyrd Skynyrd
tribute band, Street Survivors, and Ice Nine, who lead
the impromptu 20th anniversary gathering at the original
Woodstock site at Yasgar's Farm in 1989. Gaechter's
guitar talents earned him a position as a finalist in
the Guitar Techniques Competition held in Bath, UK in
July of 2001. His impeccable leads, and hot licks continue
to floor fans of GTF who have followed the band for
the past 10 years. His most notable influences are Jimi
Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Allan Holdsworth and of course
Eddie VanHalen.
On
bass, Ray Tralle shows off intricate work on
the bottom end, after years of the club scene with such
bands as Force of Habit, Heat Treatment, Free Radicals,
Citizens Arrest, Full Stride, and Alias. His mentor,
Dave LaRue of Dixie Dregs & Steve Morse fame, has helped
to make him an equally multitalented bassist. Tralle's
talents as a vocalist lend to GTF's tight harmonies
in many of those rock classics such as Force of Habit,
Heat Treatment, Free Radicals, Citizens Arrest, Full
Stride, and Alias. Ray's bass playing is influenced
by Chris Squire of YES fame, Dave LaRue & John Entwistle
of the Who.
Though
a new addition to GTF, Frank Selleck is no beginner
as he is the driving force behind GTF's tight woven
musical foursome. His Bonham-esque approach to drumming
has carried GTF to new heights. Selleck was a long time
member of the Zeppelin tribute band, Four Sticks. He
has studio experience. He recorded with Cherry High
at Electric Lady Land Studios and released a CD in 1992.
He also performed with Tyler Hayes, and has done many
NYC showcases. Surprisingly, Frank notes his biggest
influences as John Bonham, as well as Neil Peart, and
Buddy Rich.
Finally,
front man Mike Sanders rounds out the band with
his versatile rangeSanders toured Europe and the U.S.
in the eighties, and early nineties with metal band
Toxic, as well as releasing several albums. In the 90s,
Mike did the LA club scene with the band The Deep, but
returned to NJ to find a home with GTF. His powerful
vocals carry the band through classic rock covers of
Journey, Led Zeppelin, & many more.
